INTRODUCTION

The Research Centre of the Athens University of Economics and Business (hereinafter referred to as RC-AUEB) manages this website https://conferences.rc.aueb.gr/en/ (hereinafter referred to as "the Website").

The use of the Website is subject to these Terms of Use, as in force at any given time, which constitute the agreement between the RC-AUEB and any person visiting the Website regarding the use of the Website (hereinafter referred to as "the User(s)").

Access to and use of the Website in any way, including simple navigation on the Website, implies the User's unconditional acceptance of the Terms of Use, as applicable. In particular, each User of the Website, before accessing, browsing and using the Website in any way, clearly, expressly and unconditionally declares that he/she fully accepts the Terms of Use of the Website, as well as any other terms that meet the requirements of the law and may be found within this Website, in addition to this text, indicatively in the following locations: Privacy Policy and Cookies.

Your unconditional acceptance of the Terms of Use constitutes a condition of access to and use of the Website. MODIFICATION OF THE CONDITIONS OF USE

RC-AUEB reserves the right to modify freely, unilaterally and without notice the Terms of Use of this Website, without prior notice. The mere posting on this Website is sufficient for any new term, or modification or removal of an existing term, to take effect in the future. Users must check periodically whether there have been any amendments to these Terms of Use. The posting of terms on this Website fulfils the requirements of informing Users of any changes to the Terms of Use. The use of the Website presupposes and confirms the acceptance by the User of the pre-existing terms, as they are in force, with the above indicative modifications, interventions and removals.

 

OBLIGATIONS OF USERS

The Users accept and agree that they will make lawful use of the Website. The Users are indicatively and not restrictively committed to the following:

In any case, it should be stated that the material originated from the RC-AUEB Website. No tampering with the data on the Website is permitted.
  • Users of the Website and any third party are expressly forbidden to interfere with the form, function, services, content, databases or other data bases of the Website by using any mechanism, malicious or non-malicious software, electronic or non-electronic process, sending harmful files, capable of affecting, damaging, suspending, interrupting and generally hindering the smooth operation of the Website or its connection, access and use and endangering the provision of the Website's services.
  • Users and any third natural or legal person or other entity are prohibited from using software to intercept Users' data held by the RC-AUEB, as well as from storing and processing data - including traffic data - for advertising or other purposes.

The information and material contained in this Website are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis and without warranty of any kind. Although a special effort has been made by the creators of the Website to ensure that the information contained therein is accurate at the time of publication, the RC-AUEB does not guarantee the correctness and accuracy of such information, which the User uses at his/her sole risk. RC-AUEB shall not be liable, directly or indirectly, for any (positive or consequential) damage suffered by the User as a result of the use of its Website and/or the information contained therein.

The RC-AUEB is not obliged to know the truth of the information provided by the User and considers the provider of personal data to be the real subject of such information. The Users, when using the Website, are obliged to provide accurately the complete and true data requested. RC-AUEB shall not be liable for any damage to the User or a third party caused by the unintentional or intentional provision of false / inaccurate data by the User. The RC-AUEB is not responsible for any temporary or permanent inability to provide the Services due to reasons beyond its control, such as, but not limited to, reasons of force majeure, extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, emergencies, strikes, fire, epidemic, pandemic, war, malfunctions of the Host Provider or the Internet Service Provider (ISP) or the Access Provider and in general for any incident that prevents the normal operation of the Website.

The RC-AUEB shall not be liable for any damage to the User or any third party caused by risks that threaten Internet users and may occur in the context of the use of the Website. The RC-AUEB controls the level of security of the Services in the online environment, using anti-virus and anti-malware programs. Users are advised to use anti-virus software when browsing and using the Website. The RC-AUEB is not responsible for any damage to the User's hardware, software and data of the User's device, as well as for any other kind of damage to the User or a third party, due to the above mentioned risks.

During the operation of the Website, human errors, malfunctions of the network or computer systems of the RC-AUEB and other factors that may affect the correct provision of information to the Users cannot be excluded. We advise the Users of the Website, in case they become aware of any incorrect information, to contact us at research@rc.auth.gr, for immediate correction of the error, provision of clarifications and more efficient provision of services to the public.

The RC-AUEB posts informative material, drawing information from other websites. The RC-AUEB does not guarantee the accuracy, validity, completeness, reliability, timeliness, continuity, updating, etc. of the information provided on the Website. The RC-AUEB is not responsible for changes, incorrect information, omissions and inaccuracies in the information obtained from other websites and is solely responsible for republishing information for informational purposes.

The RC-AUEB is not responsible for the content of the websites to which the Users are referred/routed by the placing Users, on the Website,

links (left). The RC-AUEB is not responsible for any damage caused to the User or a third party by his/her visit to these websites. The responsibility for the content, the information, the security of the Users and the protection of their personal data and the quality of the services provided is fully borne by the owners, administrators and beneficiaries of these websites, which the User visits at his/her own risk, and the RC-AUEB does not approve, does not proactively control and does not adopt this content.

All the original content of the Website, except for the official Greek, European and international legal texts and the explicitly mentioned exceptions (possibly covered by third party copyrights), which - indicatively - includes texts, graphics, images, photographs, drawings, presentations, videos, audio files, etc. (hereinafter referred to as "Content") is the intellectual property of the RC-AUEB and is protected by applicable national, European and international law.

The RC-AUEB reserves all copyrights with respect to the Content of the Website and any derivative works created on the basis thereof.

The Content of the Website is freely available to its Users for any lawful use, provided that in case of reproduction and further use of the Content, it shall not be subject to any modification or alteration and shall be accompanied by a clear and distinct reference to its source of origin.

 

VIOLATION OF THE TERMS OF USE

All Terms of Use are material. Violation of the Terms of Use shall entail the sanctions of the applicable legislation and the obligation of the User to remedy any positive and consequential damage of the RC-AUEB or a third party from the illegal conduct of the User, which is subject to these terms. In case of violation of the Terms of Use, the RC-AUEB may prohibit the User from accessing the Website and the Services, delete the information disclosed by the User and exercise all rights provided by law. The failure of the RC-AUEB to exercise its rights under these Terms or its rights under the law shall not constitute a waiver of such rights.

 

INDEPENDENCE

In the event that any of the Terms of Use is found to be invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining terms and shall not invalidate all of the terms, and the remaining terms shall remain valid and effective and shall be interpreted in accordance with the entire spirit of the Terms of Use, including any invalid term.

 

APPLICABLE LAW - JURISDICTION

In disputes arising from the use of the Website, the applicable law is the law of the Greek state, which governs, among other things, the quality and content of the Website and the disputes that arise. Any dispute between RC-AUEB and Users/third parties arising from the operation and/or use of the Website shall be resolved by amicable negotiations between them. If this is not possible, the Greek Courts of Justice shall have jurisdiction and the Courts of Athens shall have local jurisdiction.
